SMT components using surface mount technology, compared with the traditional plug-in components, has the advantages of small size, light weight, stable performance and so on. Its working principle mainly has the following key steps

First, SMT components are accurately mounted on the surface of a printed circuit board (PCB) by a production facility. The pins of the SMT components are connected to the pads of the PCB by soldering to form circuit connections.
Second, when the electronic device is energized, current passes through the SMT component, causing it to perform a specific function. For example, the resistor can stabilize the working state of the circuit by preventing the current from flowing through; the capacitor can store the charge and smooth the circuit signal.
Finally, SMT components are mounted on the surface of the circuit board without the need for holes, avoiding failures caused by unstable plug-in component connections. At the same time, the high-density arrangement of SMT components also makes the circuit board more compact.
In general, the working principle of SMT components is to realize circuit connection through surface mount technology, which provides convenience for the design and production of modern electronic equipment.
